PhotosLilian is 100 not outBy Stabroek News November 1, 2021 Guyana’s latest centenarian, Lilian Rosaline Chin welcomed staff from the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security to her Seaforth Street, Campbellville home on October 28th. During the visit, Lilian and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren chatted about her life and journey. On behalf of the Ministry, Lilian was presented with a hamper to mark the occasion. According to a release from the Ministry, Lilian was born in 1921 in Newtown, Kitty and attended the Moravian school. When her husband passed away at 53 years, she was 51. Lilian found solace by helping children around Gordon Street, Kitty where she lived for 35 years. Lilian is the second centenarian known to her family as her grandmother lived to be 105 years old.
