Woman gets fine, community service after ganja-in-soap bust at Lusignan Prison

A young woman who was caught while attempting to smuggle cannabis into the Lusignan Prison in a bag of soaps was on Tuesday fined and ordered to do community service.

Monique Caesar, 20, of Sophia, appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court, where she pleaded guilty to the two charges brought against her.

She was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and seeking to introduce a prohibited article into the prison.
