Guard charged with theft of $400,000 ring

A security guard was on Wednesday released on bail after he denied stealing a $400,000 ring from a car that was at a wash bay.

Akeem Coates, 29, of Lot 61 Water Street, Georgetown, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown, where the charge was read to him. It is alleged that on October 28, at Water Street, Georgetown, he stole a gold and diamond ring, valued $400,000, which was the property of Mario Moonsammy.
