The Ministry of Education today announced that Queen’s College student Sarena Razak was the top student at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC).
Razak secured 19 Grade Ones passes, two Grade Twos and a Grade Three.
The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the NCERD building, Kingston, where Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand said that the results were based on data received from the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) at the preliminary level.
While she noted that Razak topped the Caribbean, she reminded that the Ministry does not have the jurisdiction to announce the top performers from the CXC. She noted that CXC is still reviewing the results and the grades and the names of the top students could change.
