A Region Eight miner was on Tuesday charged with the murder of a fellow miner from the region.
Royan John, 25, of Kopinang Village, Region Eight, was hauled before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
He was not required to plead to the charge that on October 25, at a Cuyuni River backdam, in Region Seven, he murdered McCusky Clario, 21, also a miner, of Kurukabaru Village, Region Eight.
John was remanded to prison and the proceedings were adjourned until December 15.
