Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) President, Michael Singh, has confirmed that the local contingent of the 3×3 National Squads, are slated to depart on November 11 for the FIBA AmeriCup Championships in Miami, Florida, from November 12 to14.
This was disclosed during a brief interview. According to Singh, “We are scheduled to leave on the 11th of November and return on the 15th. Joy Adams is already in the US, she travelled over from Spain and Travis Burnett is based there so the other members will be leaving on November 11th.”
According to Singh, former national player and current national coach Lugard Mohan, will serve in the capacity of team manager and 3×3 coordinator, adding that Mohan will replace Sileena Arjune in that portfolio owing to the fact that the latter will be participating in FIBA’s Adelante Programme during the tournament.
“Lugard Mohan will be taking up the management aspects and serving as the 3×3 coordinator because Ms. Sileena Arjune will be taking part in the Adelante Programme which is occurring [in Florida] at the same time with the tournament.
