Following an outstanding performance at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations, Kelly Sankar has been given a full-tuition paid pre-medical scholarship by the Texila American University (TAU).
According to a TAU press release, Sankar, who obtained 16 grade ones and 4 grade twos, will pursue studies for the Doctor of Medicine programme at the university.
The scholarship will be officially awarded to Sankar on November 15, 2021 at the Texila’s Providence campus, which has planned a brief ceremony.
The release said the provision of scholarships forms part of Texila’s long term commitment to upholding equity in education. It noted that over the years the university has collaborated with a number of private and public sector entities to offer full and partial medical scholarships for eligible students from all backgrounds.
