What began as a weekly online party among long-time friends during the Covid-19 pandemic, has taken on a life of its own and evolved into the Flexx Nation group of do-gooders.
Titled after founder, US-based Guyanese DJ Flexx, Royce Doorn, along with co-founder Karl Moore and administrators Karen Ying-Vaughan, Adunni Britton-Green, Denise Ellis, Mellissa Ifill and Yolande Gittens, the group over the last year and a half, has been motivated by various occurrences in Guyana and has raised funds to assist affected families.
To date, the families of brutally slain teenaged cousins Joel and Isaiah Henry, University of Guyana students Joshua Edwards and Antel John have benefited from the continued generosity of Flexx Nation group members at large.
Continuing in this vein, a decision was made to lend support to the minor children of 29 year-old Orin Boston, a businessman from Essequibo who was shot and killed by police in September.
To this end, DJ Flexx travelled to Guyana to make arrangements to have a local financial institution handle the disbursement of funds to the family.
