Four Lindeners charged with assault after city melee

Four Lindeners were yesterday charged with unlawful wounding and assault following a melee on Hadfield Street.

Clive Bellamy, 50, a hire car driver of Wismar Hill, Linden; Lloyd Waterman, 29, of Amelia’s Ward, Linden; Mogabin Hunt, 42, a minibus driver of Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden and Odinga Hunt, 44, a taxi driver of One Mile, Wismar, Linden were arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus read the charges to them. 

Bellamy was charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Odinga Hunt and unlawfully assaulting Mogabin Hunt. He pleaded not guilty and was released on $20,000 bail and $10,000 bail respectively on the charges.

Waterman denied that he unlawfully assaulted Bellamy and was released on $10,000 bail. Odinga Hunt and Mogabin Hunt were separately charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Bellamy. The two men pleaded not guilty and were each released on $20,000 bail. 

The offences were allegedly committed on October 29 at Hadfield Street, George-town. The Police Prosecutor did not object to the men’s bail. The matters were then adjourned until January 10.
