The trial of Neville Chandrawattie who is accused of the 2007 murder of gold and diamond dealer Dharam Chanmangra, is set to commence next Wednesday—November 17th—at the High Court in Demerara.
A jury was empaneled yesterday morning before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow who will be presiding over the trial.
The charge against Chandrawattie, called ‘Sunil,’ is that on April 21st, 2007at Port Kaituma he murdered Chanmangra.
The accused has pleaded not guilty to the capital indictment.
He is being represented by defence attorney Siand Dhurjon; while the State’s case is being presented by Prosecutor Cicelia Corbin.
