The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) yesterday said Xavier Scott was inaccurately identified as a member of the unit in the report “CANU rank, soldier get bail on separate charges,” published in the November 20, 2021 edition of Stabroek News.
In a statement published on its Facebook page, CANU said Scott’s contract was terminated in February. “CANU continues to ensure that its operations are conducted with the utmost respect and maintains strict discipline among all officers,” it also said. Stabroek News regrets the error.
