Over 60% of Region Four’s adult population has been fully inoculated even as almost 400,000 adults countrywide have received their first dose of a vaccine.
This was revealed by Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony during his daily update yesterday where he stated that approximately 77.9% of the country’s adult population have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, which accounts for 399,829 persons.
As it relates to second doses some 276,888 adults have received both doses, accounting for 54% of the country’s adult population. To this end, it was revealed during the regional breakdown that Region Four is leading the vaccination uptake as some 61.8% of the region’s adult population is fully inoculated while some 87.6% have received a first dose.
Region Five is the region with the second highest fully vaccinated percentage as some 54.8% of persons are fully vaccinated. As it relates to the first dose however, Region One has the second highest percentage at 82.8%.
Dr. Anthony stated that as it relates to the adolescent vaccination campaign some 29,088 youths from ages 12-17 have received a first dose while some 20,270 have received both doses.
