Pepsi Hikers, Guyana 40s and Saints were among the winners when the ExxonMobil national indoor hockey championships commenced Monday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

In the men’s first-division, Pepsi Hikers crushed 50 Not Out by a 10-3 score-line. Aroydy Brandord recorded a helmet-trick while Robert France bagged a double. Adding solitary strikes were Jamarj Assanah, Orlando Machado, Randy Hope and Shane Samuels.

For the losers, Philip Fernandes tallied a brace while Orson Ferguson scored once. Similarly, Guyana 40s downed YMCA Old Fort 3-0 via goals from Chris Low-Koan, Devin Munroe and Dwayne Scott. In the women’s division, Saints downed MisFits 3-0. Tekeisha DeLeon bagged a brace while Nicole Eastman scored once.

Meanwhile, Bounty GCC battled past Saints 3-1 in the men’s first-division. Kevin Spencer recorded a hat-trick in the win. For the losers, Hilmar Chester scored the lone goal. In the men’s second-division, Saints Sensations dismantled GCC War Dogs 5-0. Sean Sookhai and Naresh Mahadeo smashed two goals each while Jabari Lovell recorded the other conversion.

Similarly, Hikers Cadets edged GCC Pitbulls 2-1. On target for the victors were Orlando Machado and Edmund Chin. Samuel Woodroffe scored in the loss. The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
