The mother and her baby with health care workers at the Suddie Public Hospital

Doctors, nurses and midwives of the maternity ward at the Suddie Public Hospital are celebrating a baby who was delivered at 26 weeks weighing only 920 grams. The baby was born on September, 24, 2021, and was discharged two months later.

Despite being a premature baby, professional care from doctors and health care workers helped ensure that baby Javarious went home without any complications.

The mother, Annecia George, was overjoyed at her baby being discharged and referred to Javarious as a “miracle baby.” She admitted that she had given up hope because normally babies which such low birth weight hardly survive. She added that when she delivered she could not believe that her baby’s birth weight was less than 1,000g.
