Guyana 40s, Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Spartans, and Bounty GCC were among the victors when the ExxonMobil National Indoor Hockey Championship continued on Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
In the men’s first-division, Guyana 40s defeated 50 Not-Out 7-3. Devin Munroe bagged a hat-trick while Chris Low-Koan, Devin Hooper, Brian Asregado, and John Abrams netted one goal apiece. For the losers, Philip Fernandes, Damon Woodroffe, and Dexter Wyles tallied one conversion respectively.
Similarly, Bounty GCC dismantled YMCA Old Fort 6-0. Siblings Mark and Meshach Sargeant fashioned a combined five goals with the former amassing a hat-trick and the latter bagging a brace. Adding one goal was Kevin Spencer.
In the women’s division, GCC Spartans defeated Misfits 4-2. Marzana Fiedtkou and Gabriella Xavier recorded two goals respectively. For Misfits, Maria Munroe recorded a double.
In other results, Saints downed GCC Ignite 3-1 in the women’s division. The trio of Kezia Chinian, Clayza Bobb, and Charlyn Elliot scored one goal each. For the loser, Aliya Gordon was on target.
In the men’s second-division, Hikers Cadets muzzled GCC War Dogs 9-1. Orlando Machado and Sherwyn Caesar recorded respective hat-tricks, while David Williams registered a brace. Adding a goal was Devin Munroe. For the defeated, Seth Jeffrey scored.
Meanwhile, Bounty GCC Pitbulls and YMCA Old Fort battled to a 2-2 stalemate. Meshach Sargeant scored twice for the Bounty GCC Pitbulls, while Shaquon Favorite and Daniel Woolford netted for YMCA Old Fort.
In the men’s first-division, Pepsi Hikers lead the standings with a perfect 12 points, while Bounty GCC, Guyana 40s, 50 Not-Out, Saints, and YMCA Old Fort sit on nine, seven, three, two, and one point respectively.
In the Women’s Division, GCC Roulettes lead the way with nine points, while GCC Spartans, Saints, GCC Ignite, and Misfits are on six, six, six, and zero points apiece.
Similarly, Hikers Cadet stands atop the pile with 10 points in the Men’s 2nd Division, with YMCA Old Fort, Saints Sensations, GCC Pitbulls, Saint Scorpions, and GCC War Dogs on seven, six, four, four, and zero points correspondingly. The respective divisional finals are scheduled for today.
