The 16 teams that will compete in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/Guyana National Women’s Football Association (GNWFA) Women’s Super-16 Festival has been selected, following the official completion of the tournament fixtures.
The competing teams are St. Cuthbert’s Mission, Swan, GT Panthers, Mahdia, Guyana Police Force (GPF), Orealla, Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Upper Mazaruni, Fruta Conquerors, Moruca, Santos, New Amsterdam (NA) United, Foxy Ladies, Lethem, Bartica and Wakapow.
The tournament is scheduled to commence Saturday at St Cuthbert’s Mission and will conclude January 2nd at the GFF National Training Centre.
St. Cuthbert’s Mission will oppose Swan in the tournament opener at the former’s home ground at 15:00hrs, with GT Panthers battling Mahdia at the National Training Centre, Providence on December 14th at 15:00hrs.
On December 15th from 15:00hrs, GPF will take aim at Orealla at the Eve Leary ground, while GDF lock horns with Upper Mazaruni at the Camp Ayanganna ground from 15:00hrs on December 16th.
On December 18th, Fruta Conquerors battle Moruca at the National Training Centre, Providence from 13:00hrs, whilst Santos tackles NA United at 15:00hrs.
The final two matches of the round of 16 section on December 19th will pit Foxy Ladies against Lethem at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora and home side Bartica against Wakapow at the Community Centre ground. Both of the aforesaid fixtures will commence at 18:00hrs.
The winners will progress to the quarterfinal section which will occur on December 20th, December 21st, December 23rd and December 24th.
The semi-final fixtures will be staged December 27th and December 28th.
