SQ Apparel became the official uniform supplier for the second Rawle Toney 3×3 Classic, donating complete kits to the 16 participating teams yesterday during an announcement ceremony at the MVP Sports Giftland Mall location.
Colin Baker, SQ Apparel’s Director of Operations, stated that the establishment is pleased to provide the custom kits for the tournament. Formerly known as Squadra, the Florida-based company custom uniforms contain a combination of style, quality materials and craftsmanship which will be highlighted during the prestigious tournament.
The company, which once outfitted the Golden Jaguars team, supplies custom products for sports teams, schools, fan gear, corporate uniforms and athletic wear amongst others.
Tournament Organiser Toney praised the company for the initiative which he said will add to the professionalism and overall quality of the tournament.
Meanwhile, MVP Sports also joined the list of sponsors to support the burgeoning event, donating an undisclosed sum and a pair of Steph Curry sneakers, which will serve as the prizes for MVP 3-point shooting contest at tomorrow’s official launch at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The entity also committed to financially supporting the actual tournament, which is set for February 19th-20th at the Homestretch Avenue facility.
Managing Director of MVP Sports, Ian Ramdeo, said: “It’s heartening for me personally to see our athletes get a chance to get back out after a very long time of little competition and little play time. So we’re very happy to be part of this tournament.”
An exhibition tournament is scheduled to be staged at the launch, which will provide the platform for sponsors and the public to view and understand the details of the emerging format. The competing teams are Linden, Ravens, Colts and Eagles, while Kwakwani Females will battle their Georgetown counterparts in a best of three series.
