The National Sports Commission, Fitness Express and DTS Trading and Shipping will do some heavy lifting for the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Inc. (GBBFFI).
The entities have collaborated to be the three main sponsors of the flagship National Senior Championships scheduled for tomorrow at the National Cultural Centre.
Recently, Director of Sport, Steve Ninvalle along with CEO of Fitness Express, Jamie McDonald and Managing Director of DTS Trading, Derek Stony presented sponsorship cheques to president of the federation, Keavon Bess.
The funds will be used to offset some of the expenses of the event which commences at 18:00hrs.
Meanwhile, permission has been granted for the event to have a live audience on the condition that the federation must follow all the guidelines as set out in the Gazetted Order on COVID-19. Further the venue can only accommodate 200 fully vaccinated persons in the audience.
Tickets which cost $2500, are currently on sale at the host venue.
While on stage, athletes will be required to stand six feet apart from each other. While backstage, athletes will be required to wear masks and to maintain the mandatory physical distancing.
Judges will be seated six feet from each other and will be required to wear their masks.

On the night of the competition, there will be about 30 athletes competing in the three different segments. These are:
1. Bodybuilding;
2. Bikini
3. Men’s Physique
To date some of the athletes registered are: Darious Ramsammy, Christina Ramsammy, Rosanna Fung, Nicholas Albert, Emmerson Campbell, Yannick Grimes, Colin Cheney, Marlon Bennet, Lyndon Kennedy, Brian Singh, Odel Crum-Ewing, Asanti Conway, Gail Karim, Jonathan Jeffery, Julio Sinclair, Ronaldo Caldeira and Joel Caldeira.
