A Plaisance, East Coast Demerara man’s motorcycle was destroyed in a fire during the wee hours on Thursday morning.
According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), motorcycle PSS 407, belonging to Edward Taylor, 52, of Lot 2 Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, was destroyed during the wee hours of Thursday morning.
The police said that the motorcycle, valued at $2.2 million, was secured and parked at the address on Wednesday at about 21:00hrs. It was on the eastern side of Prince William Street facing north, about 40 feet from his home.
The police said that on Thursday at about 02:30hrs, the man reported that while he was in bed he heard a loud explosion coming from the front of the yard. He got up and went to his window where he saw his motorcycle engulfed in flames.
The fire service was contacted and firefighters from the Campbellville Fire Service arrived at about 03:00hrs. But the motorcycle was already destroyed by then.
The investigations are still ongoing, the police said.
