A 21-year-old woman who has a disability was allegedly raped in her Region Nine home on Sunday and the police have since arrested the suspect. According to a police report, the complainant was alone at home when the suspect went into the premises and allegedly committed the act.
The police were alerted after the woman related the ordeal to her relatives who found her crying.
The 21-year-old suspect was apprehended by public-spirited citizens and handed over to the police.
He was cautioned and reportedly confessed to the crime, the police said.
