Dear Editor,
Good wishes and congratulations to Aubrey Norton on his victory for the leader post in PNC internal elections last Saturday. I also wish to applaud the work of the returning officer/presider Mr. Alexander and the rest of the election’s team on holding a transparent election. There were fears about whether the election would be free and fair. As the second largest party in the nation, and one which has a constitutional role, peaceful free and fair election is an inspiration for the nation.
It is a remarkable, well deserved victory for Team Norton! Clearly, the delegates have instilled their faith in Mr. Norton, as opposed to the two others. He should start off on a positive message of change, unlike his predecessors. The newly elected leader, and his team of executives, should now reach across to the government’s side on how they can work together to address development challenges.
Sincerely,
Vishnu Bisram
