The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) outflanked Swan FC by an 8-0 scoreline when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/Guyana National Women Football Association (GNWFA) Super-16 Festival continued yesterday at the National Training Centre, Providence.
The result continued the common theme of the event which is lopsided results. Similarly, Lethem dismantled Foxy Ladies 18-0 on Sunday at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
It was the largest margin of defeat recorded in the tournament, eclipsing the previous 13-0 mark set by GT Panthers against Mahdia. The duo of Nena Cabral and Cheryl Roberts fashioned six goals each in the lopsided encounter.
Cabral tallied conversions in the 21st, 35th, 38th, 52nd, 78th and 82nd minute, whilst Roberts scored in the 10th, 25th, 43rd, 44th, 60th, and 90th. Danielle Spencer bagged a brace in the 80th and 81st minute, while Jacklyn Williams tallied a double in the 70th and 90th minute.
Adding one goal each were Sirah Cupertino and Loreen Alcides in the 23rd and 69th minute. At the Bartica Community Centre ground, Bartica All-Stars defeated Essequibo All-Stars 2-1 on penalty kicks, after regulation and extra time ended scoreless. The event continues today at the National Training Centre, Providence.
