Campbellville man held over firearm

Police have arrested a man after he was allegedly found in possession of an unlicensed firearm at Campbellville, Georgetown yesterday afternoon.

In a brief statement, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said the unlicensed .22 pistol was found around 5 pm during an intelligence-led operation in Second Street, Campbellville, Georgetown.

The firearm was lodged at the Kitty Police Station and the suspect was placed in custody pending charges, the police said.
