The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday announced a list of 30 players who will feature in tomorrow’s first of three Four-Day matches.
The Match is scheduled for the Albion Community Centre Ground between 10.00 hours and 17.00 hours.
Leon Johnson, who skippered Guyana to five Regional Four-Day Championship titles in the last six seasons was listed along with West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer, all-rounder Keemo Paul, left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul and off-spinner Kevin Sinclair.
Vishaul Singh, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Keon Joseph and Clinton Pestano, who have been instrumental in Guyana’s dominance are also to play along with under-19 players, Mavindra Dindyal, Rampertab Ramnauth, Jonathan Rampersaud and Zachary Jodah.
Former national youth players, Kevlon Anderson, Demitri Cameron, Sylus Tyndall, Qumar Torrington, Joshua Jones, Kelvin Umroa, Richie Looknauth, Junior Sinclair, Quintin Sampson, Seon Glasgow, Javed Karim, Ashmead Nedd and Raymon Perez are also in the mix.
National wicketkeepers, Kemol Savory and Tevin Imlach were named while national players, Akshaya Persaud and Anthony Adams round off the squad.
Romario Shepherd and Gudakesh Motie are currently on international duties while notably absent from the squad is Chandrapaul Hemraj, Nial Smith, Assad Fudadin, Devendra Bishoo, Anthony Bramble, Christopher Barnwell, Trevon Griffith and Ronaldo Ali-Mohamed. The teams will be under the supervision of head coach, Esuan Crandon and assistant coach, Ryan Hercules. The scheduled dates for the other two matches are January 12-15 and January 18-21.
