A Roraima Airways pilot has been suspended and the domestic airline is facing penalties for breaching aviation regulations in the Britten-Norman Trislander crash-landing at Eccles, East Bank Demerara last August.
Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Director General, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret’d) Egbert Field during the Ministry of Public Works’ year-in-review press conference yesterday disclosed that the sanctions were impos-ed following recommendations from their investigations.
“Recommendations put forward in the Haags Bosch crash-landing will see penalties being applied to the operators and the pilot involved….Those penalties have been activated and the pilot is now in suspension for that accident for a particular period,” Field related. He did not disclose the length of the suspension or the name of the pilot.
