A man who was accused of attempting to rob a Special Constable was yesterday freed of the charge after the cop told the court that he did not want to give evidence against the accused.
Kenrick Haley appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where Magistrate Dylon Bess dismissed the charge against him.
He denied that on January 8, at East and Quamina streets, Georgetown, while being armed with a brick, he attempted to rob Kester Kellis, a Special Constable.
Before the Magistrate could proceed with the matter, Kellis told the court that he knows the man and wished not to proceed. The man was then advised to apologize and thank the constable for his decision and he was warned against committing offences. Haley assured the court that he would steer clear of any other brush-ins with the law and thanked the officer for his empathy.
