Darrell La Fargue, the former Queensway Security Service worker who is accused of stealing millions from the company, was yesterday freed of the charges laid against him after a settlement was reached.

La Fargue, of North Sophia, Greater Georgetown, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, who dismissed the numerous charges that were being heard by both her and Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

The charges were dismissed following an agreement between La Fargue, his father and Queensway Security Service, to have the bail amounts be given to the company once the charges were dismissed.

He was charged with multiple counts of larceny by a clerk or servant.

Policed Prosecutor Annalisa Brummell previously told the court that La Fargue was accused of stealing a hefty sum of money. She indicated that a total of 56 charges were expected to be brought against him. The charges were before two the city magistrates.

According to Brummell, over $3 million was alleged to have been stolen by the man. The prosecutor added that when the allegations were put to him, he had admitted to committing them.

However, when the charges were brought against him, he pleaded not guilty to each. He was then released on bail for each charge. The family had indicated to the police early on that discussions were being made to have the matter settled.
