Sports associations commend government for budget allocation

The Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) along with the lawn tennis and badminton associations have released statements commending the government on the record $2.2B allocation for the sports sector in the 2022 budget.

The Guyana Volleyball Federation is not surprised at the results/input of the Sports Budget of  $2.2 billion. 

As a matter of fact, the past engagements and fulfilled commitments coming from the desk of the Honorable Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Mr. Charles Ramson Jr. Was definitely a prediction of what was to come.

The Volleyball fraternity lauds the Government of Guyana for the bold initiative taken, to historically boost sports participation in the form of financial support. This will definitely be used as a catalyst to develop our sporting Nation.

The GVF pledges to ensure that Volleyball creates that positive change for the better, as it has commenced doing so, with the intervention of the Honorable Culture, Youth and Sports Minister. Who has been steadfast in his endeavors. 

Hats off to a government that has shown tantamount commitment to Sports.

The Guyana Badminton Association commends the Government of Guyana on the significant allocation for sport in the 2022 National Budget. 

The allocation of $2.2 billion signals the Government’s intent to invest in the nation’s youths and its commitment to the continued development of sports throughout the country.  The Guyana Badminton Association looks forward to working along with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport in the coming months.

The Guyana Tennis Association welcomes the amplified allocation of funds in the 2022 budget to further enhance sport in Guyana.

The Hon. Minister of Culture,Youth and Sport, Mr. Charles Ramson, the National Sports Commission, and the GTA have engaged in meaningful discourses recently to create pathways to enhance facilities, players, and coach education in our sport.

Therefore, the Guyana Tennis Association is optimistic that tennis will continue to benefit from government funding to achieve our 2022 goals and objectives.
