(Trinidad Guardian) Investigations are continuing into a murder that took place in broad daylight in Enterprise, Chaguanas yesterday afternoon. The victim was identified as Antonio Tong Ching, 58.
According to a police report, at about 12.30 pm Tong Ching was seated in his Tiida vehicle along Phyllis Lane when two vehicles approached – one behind and one in front blocking his vehicle. Police said occupants alighted from both vehicles and opened fire on Tong Ching’s vehicle killing him on the scene.
The men then got back in their respective vehicles and drove off.Police said Tong Ching, who was shot several times about the body was not known from the area.A motive is yet to be determined for the killing.
Residents expressed shock over the ambush and feared that gang violence is on the rise in the Enterprise area. Residents called on Police to re-introduce frequent police and soldier patrols as a measure to restore peace in the area and safety among residents.
