The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) will stage its first CARIFTA Games Trials on Sunday at the National Track and Field Centre.
According to a release, the decision was made to shelf the second development meet and instead stage the trials after consultation with most of the active coaches and a special sitting of the Technical Committee.
Age groups that will be contested in this meet will be 14-16, 17-19 and 20+.
Events for the age group categories are as follows:
14 -16 M/F
100, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m (Male Only), Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Shot Put, Discus
17-19
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m (Female Only), 5000m (Male Only) Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Shot Put, Discus
20+
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m (Female Only), 5000m (Male Only), Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Shot Put, Discus NOTE: THIS MEET IS FOR REGISTERED ATHLETES ONLY.
ALL THLETES MUST COMPLETE THEIR 2022 REGISTRATION TO BE ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE.
Completed entry forms for CARIFTA Trials mustbe returned on or before today at 4:00pm via email, coaches chat or at the AAG office, 125 Light St Georgetown.
Athletes are required to pay a meet entry fee of $300.
Rules:
Athletes are only allowed to compete in two events and in one age category.
First false start will be against the field while the second false start will be against the athlete.
Athletes will be given six (6) attempts at ALL FIELD EVENTS.
All track events will be timed finals.
The Technical Delegate reserves the right to seed and or remove any event from these meets.
