Berbice trio charged over $1M Rose Hall ganja find

Two women and a man were on Friday charged over the discovery of $1.1 million in cannabis that was found at their Rose Hall, Corentyne home. 

Veronica Walker, 54, Neshella Walker, 34, and Simeon Lawson, 30, appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court, where they were faced with the trafficking in narcotics charge.

Veronica pleaded guilty to the charge before quickly changing her plea, while Neshella and Lawson also pleaded not guilty. Veronica was denied bail and remanded until February 15, while her co-accused were released on $250,000 bail each.
