The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Saturday said that the alleged rapist of a 17-year-old girl has been arrested following the report of the attack.
The GPF said in a statement that the suspect is in custody “assisting with investigations” by the police in Regional Division #7.
According to the teen, police said, the rape occurred on Friday.
It was reported that the suspect and the teen know each other and that the suspect allegedly visited the home of the teen, where the attack was carried out. She later regained consciousness and alerted her family, who then made a report to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
