The National COVID-19 Task Force on Friday announced that the reopening of the Guyana-Brazil border has been extended to include weekends.
Following COVID-19 restrictions, the border was last November reopened to traffic from Mondays to Fridays.
In a statement, the Task Force said the border would now be open every day. It added that travellers are still required to present relevant authorities with a negative molecular biological or rapid PCR COVID-19 test result recorded within 72-hours prior to the date of arrival, in addition to proof of vaccination, in order to enter Guyana.
The change in restrictions took immediate effect.
