The Ministry of Health has confirmed the deaths of two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The deceased were identified as two men, ages 52 and 71, who both succumbed on Friday. The younger man was unvaccinated while the other was fully vaccinated.
The latest fatalities took the total number of deaths from the pandemic in Guyana to 1,210.
Meanwhile, the ministry’s updated COVID-19 dashboard showed 53 new cases from 1,426 more tests. The dashboard also showed 12 persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care unit (ICU), 71 persons in institutional isolation and 841 persons in home isolation.
