They were 11-11, 12-12, 14-14, 16-16, 17-17, 18-18, and 19-19, as neither side could effectively control the momentum of the back and forth nature of the set.
Eagles eventually broke the shackles of the encounter, romping to a 23-19 lead following a 4-0 offensive charge. The set and the resulting 2-0 advantage was then sealed at 25-21, following a 2-2 exchange.
Meanwhile, the third set started brightly for the army unit who stormed to a 6-2 advantage. A 4-0 run by Eagles reduced the deficit to 8-6, before a 6-4 exchange restored parity to proceedings at 12-12.
A further four instances of tied scores would ensue, as both sides failed to seize the advantage at 13-13, 14-14, 17-17, and 21-21. However, a four-point blitz by the GDF unit sealed the contest at 25-21 and narrowed Eagles overall lead at 2-1.
