Up to Friday, the Ministry of Public Health reported that 431,597 of adult Guyanese have had a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
This translates into 84.1% of the adult population. Those who have had a second dose number 326,867 or 63.7%. This means that 63.7% of the Guyanese population has been completely vaccinated. In terms of adolescents, 33,476 or 45.9% have had a first vaccine and 24,134 or 33.1% have had a second vaccine.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health yesterday said that 12 new cases of the COVID-19 virus were detected.
In its daily dashboard, it said that 10 persons are in the ICU.
The death toll remains at 1220.
