North East La Penitence won the inaugural South Turkeyen Sports Committee coordinated ‘Island Boys Delivery Service small goal football competition’ defeating Sparta Boss in the final on Sunday at the Alberttown Tarmac.
The North East La Penitence outfit prevailed 3-2 in a keenly contested affair to claim a cash incentive, the championship trophy and medals. The runners-up also received a cash incentive, trophy and medals. Buxton-A finished in the third position.
Meanwhile, the South Turkeyen Sports Committee will conduct a 3-a-side small goal football tournament on Sunday at the C-Field Sophia tarmac. Various teams from the community as well as the villages of Tucville, South Ruimveldt, and North Ruimveldt are expected to compete.
The first prize is a cash incentive from Jacobs Jewellery and Pawn Shop as well as a trophy compliments of the National Sports Commission.
