(Trinidad Guardian) Almost a year after police seized a cache of guns and ammunition at a Central warehouse, police seized another cache of high-powered weapons at the same warehouse yesterday.
At 1.30 pm yesterday, a team of officers from the Special Investigations Unit, together with Customs and Excise officers, acted on intelligence and went to Medway customs warehouse at Old Southern Main Road, off St Mary’s Junction, where they intercepted a sealed barrel.
In it, they found 17 high-powered rifles, two Glock 19 pistols, 46 boxes each containing 20 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and an additional 101 rounds of the same ammunition in a Ziploc bag.
Police had also raided Medway Limited’s warehouse on April 26, 2021 and discovered several guns and a large quantity of ammunition of various calibres. That cache included over 1,500 rounds of ammunition, four pistols and an assault rifle.
