Days after production was halted following mechanical issues at the Guyana Sugar Corporation’s (GuySuCo) Uitvlugt estate, grinding operations resumed yesterday, according to Communications Officer Angela Abraham-Parks.
With the issues resolved, she said that production for this crop is moving full speed ahead. The estate has been given the target to produce at least 25 per cent of the sugar expected from this crop.
The corporation has set a target to produce some 21,000 metric tonnes of sugar in this first crop.
