Hinds’ conversation about race and Guyana’s economic realities

Dear Editor,

In David Hinds letter “Guyana going nowhere until ethno-racial distribution of power is settled” (SN, 7th March 2022) he seems to want a conversation on race. This is the same David Hinds that likes black pudding but don’t want it from the Indian Lady selling black pudding. Is this really a person who is looking to exorcise racism in Guyana? Leaving aside his hypocrisy, I would like to inform David Hinds that the vast majority of people are working to eke out a living to put bread on the table. So, while we are all talking about race 24/7, 365 days a year, who putting bread on the table? Talk is cheap for David Hinds. Can he do the deeds to follow? We need to go back to ask the Indian Black Pudding Lady. While we are on the topic of race, what does David Hinds want to say about race?

Sincerely,

Sean Ori
