Georgetown defeated Upper Demerara by 129 runs yesterday to remain undefeated in the Demerara Cricket Board Inter-Association competition.
At the Demerara Cricket Club, Queenstown, Georgetown won the toss and opted to bat, posting 183 all out in 46.1 overs.
Extras top scored with 57, 52 of which came in wides. Opener Lomar Seecharan was patient, hitting 39 from 93 balls, laced with four boundaries before he was dismissed caught and bowled by Corey Charles. The middle order solidified Georgetown’s position of dominance with Reyaz Latif stroking 33 not out from 87 balls. His innings featured two boundaries. Dhanesh Persaud made a ball-a-run 27 featuring three boundaries while skipper, Dave Mohabir chipped in with 13.
