Jamaul John’s dominance in local cycling continued Sunday when he won the Open category of the 21st annual Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) Diamond Mineral Water 50-mile road race in Region Three.
The Team Foundation rider, in wet conditions, crossed the finish line at Schoonord in a time of one hour, 39 minutes and 42 seconds after leaving that point to travel to Bushy Park, Parika and back. His timing was five minutes and 48 seconds better than the last fixture in 2019 which was won by Marcus Kieler.
John was trailed by Andre “Padlock” Greene and Romello Crawford.
