A 19-year-old overseas based Guyanese was shot and killed at Buffalo, New York and a reward of US$7,500 is being offered for any information that may lead to his killer/s.
The dead youth has been identified as Royden Cave, who was a freshman criminal justice major at the SUNY Buffalo State College.
According to a Buffalo News report, the shooting occurred around 3.40am at a house on Bird Avenue, Buffalo, where a party was being held.
Cave was taken to the Erie County Medical Center, where succumbed, the report said.
Crime Stoppers has issued a $7,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
In an email sent to students and staff on Sunday morning, the report said Buffalo State President, Katherine S. Conway-Turner, expressed condolences to the family and friends of Cave.
“On behalf of the entire Buffalo State community, I express my heartfelt condolences to the Cave family and Royden’s beloved friends. Our hearts ache for you during this difficult time,” the report quoted Conway-Turner as saying.
It further noted that law enforcement officials are asking anyone with information to call or text the department’s confidential line on 716-847-2255.
