Man charged over killing of overseas-based Guyanese at Crabwood Creek

A man was remanded to prison yesterday after he was charged with the murder of Lakhan Chaterpaul, the overseas-based Guyanese who was slain during a visit to celebrate his older brother’s wedding.

Eon Gonsalves, also known as ‘Belly’, 26, of Grant 1802 Crabwood Creek, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Number 51 Magis-trate’s Court, where he was charged with murdering Chaterpaul, also known as “Rickash”, 21, on March 9.

Gonsalves was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison after bail was denied.
