Young poet Aurelia Sue-Ann is in the process of putting the final touches on her second book, A Picturesque Journey, slated to be out next month. Among the 36 poems featured in the book is “Women’s Day”, a tribute Aurelia penned to women around the world.
A Picturesque Journey is a compilation of poems Aurelia has written over the last three years. “Women’s Day”, for example, was penned in 2019 and there are some which reflect the COVID-19 pandemic. For most of us, holidays are special, just as they are to Aurelia. In her book, the 13-year-old shares how the holidays were affected and how our lives were impacted.
“It also reflects my own experiences…,” she said.
Among her favourites are “A Typical Christmas”, “Mornings” and “Eid-Mubarak”. The beautiful illustrations in the book are also the work of the multi-talented Marian Academy ninth-grader.
Recently, the versatile teen was a part of a performance titled ‘Amplify Her’ done to observe International Women’s Day at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre.
A Picturesque Journey was edited by Petamber Persaud and is being published via Amazon.com.
Aurelia’s first book, A Little Poet’s World was published in 2018.
