Olympian, Aliyah Abrams recorded Guyana’s best performance after finishing fifth in yesterday’s final of the women’s 400m at World Indoor Athletic Championships being staged in Serbia.
She clocked 52.34s in the race which was won by Olympic gold medalist, Shaunae Miller-Uibo who ran a season’s best 50.31s.
Abrams’ campaign ended in a bittersweet manner since en route to the finals, she clocked a faster time (51.57s) and set the women’s 400m record for a South American quarter miler at an Indoor event.
