According to the statement, Police in the region say that the motorcycle was proceeding north along the eastern side of the Annai Main Road and on the approach of a right turn the 16-year-old rider applied brakes to negotiate same but in the process he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a tree stump which is on the eastern corner of the road.
As a result of the collision they both fell onto the gravel surface where they suffered injuries about their bodies. They were picked up by public-spirited citizen in an unconscious state and taken to the Annai Health Centre where they were seen and examined by a doctor on duty. The rider regained consciousness while the pillion rider remained unconscious.
They were then both referred to Lethem Regional Hospital where they were again seen and examined by another doctor and later admitted as patients.
