Police book spot in NBS 40-over semis

Pernell London scored 92 not out to earn Police a spot in the NBS second-division semi-final.

The preliminary round of the Georgetown Cricket Association/ New Building Society’s 40-over second-division tournament concluded last weekend with Police Sports Club joining Georgetown Cricket Club, Muslim Youth Organisation and Demerara Cricket Club in the  semifinals after beating Ace Warriors by 173 runs and GNIC by five wickets.

Playing at home Sunday, Police batted first, posting 257 all out in 35.1 overs before restricting Ace Warriors to 84 all out in 19.4 overs.

For Police, Pernell London smashed nine fours and a six during his unbeaten 92 from just 76 balls and added 55 for the 10th wicket with Keston Harcourt (13) and 45 for the eighth wicket with Vishal Jaigobin (16).
