Men’s Physique standout, Yannick Grimes has departed for Aruba on a quest to capture an elusive but illustrious pro card when he makes his debut at the Giovanni Classic this weekend.
Grimes, a former national men’s physique champion and CAC bronze medalist in the up to 170cm class, stated that he has had his hard hat on in the gym grinding out thousands of sets and reps and several hours of cardio to sculpt a winning package.
Said Grimes prior to departure, “This is my first time taking part in the Giovanni Classic competition and it’s another attempt to gain this illustrious pro card. My prep for this competition has been non-stop since I came straight from CAC last year August into National Seniors in December and went full into prep mode again for this competition so it’s been non-stop work.
The popular personal trainer, who will represent Guyana along with Lindon ‘Muscle’ Burnett (Masters) added that he is confident of climbing the podium steps at the annual event.
“I think I missed a trick in El Salvador last year at CAC which I corrected for Seniors and I will now better that package come this weekend in the “one happy island” of Aruba where I am confident of making top 3”.
Grimes concluded by thanking Republic Bank, Gtt and the Parliament of Guyana for making the sojourn possible.
