The APNU+AFC has lodged a motion in the National Assembly calling on the government to promptly devise a strategy to address the high cost of living currently burdening Guyanese.
The motion was tabled by Member of Parliament Annette Ferguson and is scheduled to come up for debate at the next sitting of the House.
The resolve clause says: “AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Government of Guyana, make provisions for EACH Guyanese above the age of eighteen (18) years be paid a quarterly cash grant of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00), which will compensate for the increase in the cost of living”.
